Bound VHS (1997) – Jennifer Tilly – Gina Gershon – Wachowskis – Neo-Noir Crime Thriller – Republic Pictures
Get tangled in a dangerous game of deception, desire, and double-crosses with Bound (1996), the stylish neo-noir crime thriller from Lana and Lilly Wachowski. Starring Jennifer Tilly and Gina Gershon, this acclaimed cult favorite combines sharp suspense, elaborate schemes, and a tense atmosphere that keeps viewers guessing. This 1997 VHS release from Republic Pictures is a great addition for collectors of '90s thrillers, independent cinema, and cult classics.
The story follows Corky, an ex-con working as a handyman in an apartment building, who becomes involved with Violet, the girlfriend of a violent mobster named Caesar. The two women develop a plan to steal two million dollars in mob money and escape together, but their scheme depends on perfect timing and absolute trust. As suspicion grows and the situation spirals out of control, the pair must outsmart Caesar before their plan collapses around them.
Written and directed by Lana and Lilly Wachowski, Bound stars Gina Gershon as Corky, Jennifer Tilly as Violet, and Joe Pantoliano as Caesar. Praised for its inventive direction, tightly constructed plot, and stylish cinematography, the film helped establish the Wachowskis as distinctive voices in modern genre cinema before The Matrix.
