Chasing Amy (VHS, 1997) – Kevin Smith – Ben Affleck – Romantic Comedy Drama

Holden McNeil and Banky Edwards are comic book artists and longtime friends whose lives change when Holden meets Alyssa Jones, an independent comic book artist who captures his heart. As Holden develops feelings for Alyssa, he struggles with his own insecurities about her romantic past, putting his friendship with Banky and his relationship with Alyssa to the test.

Written and directed by Kevin Smith, Chasing Amy is a defining entry in the filmmaker's View Askewniverse, blending romantic drama, sharp dialogue, indie comedy, and an honest exploration of relationships, jealousy, sexuality, and emotional vulnerability. Ben Affleck stars alongside Joey Lauren Adams and Jason Lee, with memorable supporting performances from Dwight Ewell and Jason Mewes. Released in 1997, the film became one of Smith's best-known independent features and earned Joey Lauren Adams a Golden Globe nomination for her performance.

A great addition for collectors of 1990s independent cinema, Kevin Smith films, cult movie VHS releases, and vintage Miramax-era home video.
