Colors (VHS, 1988) – Robert Duvall & Sean Penn – Orion Home Video – NEW & SEALED

Two cops. Two gangs. One hell of a war.

Dennis Hopper’s gritty crime drama Colors follows veteran LAPD officer Bob Hodges and his hotheaded young partner Danny McGavin as they patrol the gang-controlled streets of Los Angeles. Hodges understands the complicated relationship between police and the neighborhood, while McGavin’s aggressive approach quickly puts him at odds with both the gangs and his own partner.

Starring Robert Duvall and Sean Penn, with Maria Conchita Alonso, Don Cheadle, Damon Wayans, Glenn Plummer, and Grand L. Bush, Colors is a hard-edged look at gang violence and police work in late-1980s Los Angeles. The original Orion VHS release is especially interesting to collectors because it included additional footage added specifically for the videocassette release.
