Cut-Throats Nine is a gritty Spanish/Italian-style western about a group of chained prisoners being transported through a harsh mountain landscape after a brutal crime. When their escort is ambushed, the survivors are left to continue the journey on their own—only to realize the stolen gold they’re tied to may be worth more than their lives.
As paranoia builds and survival instincts take over, the group turns on each other in a slow-burn descent into violence, betrayal, and desperation. The film is known for its bleak tone, harsh violence, and “survival western” structure that fits firmly in the Euro-western and exploitation tradition.
