Double Dragon (VHS, 1994) – Video Game Action Cult Classic
Based on the iconic arcade game franchise, Double Dragon brings the martial arts action of the streets to the screen with a colorful, post-apocalyptic twist. The film follows brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee as they battle gangs and a power-hungry villain to protect a mystical medallion that grants incredible strength.
Starring Scott Wolf and Mark Dacascos as the Lee brothers, alongside Robert Patrick as the over-the-top antagonist, the film blends martial arts, comedy, and ‘90s arcade-inspired style. Directed by James Yukich, Double Dragon has since gained a cult following among fans of video game adaptations and nostalgic ‘90s action.
