Jaws 2 VHS (1978) – 1990 Release – Roy Scheider – Lorraine Gary – MCA/Universal Home Video – Shark Horror
The terror returns to Amity Island in Jaws 2, the 1978 sequel to Steven Spielberg’s legendary shark thriller. Directed by Jeannot Szwarc, this suspense-filled follow-up brings back Roy Scheider as Police Chief Martin Brody, who once again finds himself battling a deadly shark threatening the island’s residents and summer visitors.
Four years after the original shark attacks, Amity Island is enjoying another busy tourist season. Brody becomes convinced that a great white shark is lurking offshore after a series of disturbing incidents, but town officials are reluctant to believe him because they fear another beach closure will devastate the local economy. When a group of young sailors heads out onto the water, the danger becomes terrifyingly real, forcing Brody into another desperate fight to protect his community.
Starring Roy Scheider, Lorraine Gary, Murray Hamilton, and Joseph Mascolo, Jaws 2 delivers suspenseful shark attacks, ocean-set thrills, and the familiar terror of a predator hiding beneath the surface. This VHS edition is a great addition for collectors of vintage horror, creature features, shark movies, and the classic Jaws franchise.
The original film was released in 1978, and MCA first issued it on VHS in 1980. MCA/Universal reissued the film during the 1990s, so the exact release year should be matched to your copy's packaging.
