Based on the hit MTV short film series, Joe’s Apartment is an offbeat musical comedy starring Jerry O’Connell as Joe, a small-town newcomer who moves to New York City and rents a rundown apartment inhabited by thousands of wisecracking, singing cockroaches. Despite the unusual roommates, Joe finds friendship, romance, and plenty of outrageous adventures as he fights to save his home from greedy developers.
Directed by John Payson, Joe’s Apartment mixes live action, puppetry, animation, and musical numbers into one of the strangest and most memorable comedies of the 1990s. Its quirky humor and MTV roots have earned it a lasting cult following.
