Joysticks - Blu Ray

Joysticks (Blu-ray, 1983) – MVD Rewind Collection #58 – Joe Don Baker – Comedy

A corrupt, power-hungry local businessman launches a relentless moral crusade to shut down the town's wildly popular arcade, "Top Video," which he views as a breeding ground for teenage rebellion and delinquency. Unwilling to see their favorite hangout destroyed, a colorful group of misfit arcade employees, competitive gamers, and local teenagers band together to protect the shop. The conflict reaches a boiling point when the arcade gang challenges their wealthy corporate adversary to an all-or-nothing, high-stakes arcade game showdown to determine the absolute fate of the video game capital.

Directed by Greydon Clark (Satan's Cheerleaders, Without Warning), Joysticks stars Joe Don Baker alongside Leif Green, Jim Greenleaf, Scott McGinnis, Jon Gries, and Corinne Wahl. This premium, boutique physical media release from the MVD Rewind Collection (numbered #58 in the series) serves as an ultimate time capsule of early 1980s pop culture, combining classic campy humor, a nostalgic synth soundtrack, traditional teen bedroom comedy tropes, and a celebration of classic video game arcade mayhem.
