Mallrats Blu-ray (1995) – Extended Edition – Kevin Smith – Jason Lee – Shannen Doherty – Cult Comedy
Before the View Askewniverse became a cult-cinema institution, Kevin Smith delivered Mallrats, the irreverent 1995 comedy about romance, friendship, and the absurdities of spending an entire day at the mall. This Extended Edition Blu-ray is a great pick for collectors of '90s comedies, Kevin Smith films, and nostalgic pop-culture favorites.
The story follows two heartbroken young men, T.S. Quint and Brodie Bruce, who head to the mall after their relationships fall apart. While T.S. tries to win back his girlfriend, Brodie is more interested in video games, comic books, food-court hangouts, and finding ways to outsmart the people around him. Their plans become increasingly ridiculous as they encounter eccentric shoppers, romantic rivals, and a security guard determined to keep order.
Written and directed by Kevin Smith, the film stars Jeremy London as T.S. Quint and Jason Lee as Brodie Bruce, alongside Shannen Doherty, Claire Forlani, Ben Affleck, Joey Lauren Adams, and Jason Mewes. Though initially underappreciated, Mallrats developed a devoted following thanks to its rapid-fire dialogue, comic-book references, memorable characters, and distinctly '90s sense of humor.
The Extended Edition makes this release especially appealing to fans who want to revisit Smith’s mall-bound comedy and its place in the evolution of the View Askewniverse.
