A pioneering work of British science fiction horror, The Quatermass Xperiment follows Professor Bernard Quatermass as he investigates the horrific aftermath of an experimental rocket mission. When only one astronaut returns to Earth, he begins undergoing a terrifying transformation caused by an alien organism brought back from space. As the mutation grows more grotesque and dangerous, Quatermass races to stop a catastrophe that threatens all of humanity.

Produced by Hammer Films and directed by Val Guest, the film helped establish many of the themes and visual styles that would later define science fiction and horror cinema. Its blend of scientific paranoia and body horror influenced generations of filmmakers and remains a cornerstone of British genre filmmaking.
