Village of the Giants (VHS – MGM Midnite Movies, 1965)
A bizarre cult sci-fi comedy from the 1960s teen drive-in era, Village of the Giants follows a small town that gets thrown into chaos when a group of teenagers discover a mysterious substance that causes them to grow to giant size. As the oversized teens take over the town, local authorities and adults scramble to regain control while the situation spirals into absurd, low-budget spectacle.
Directed by Bert I. Gordon, a filmmaker known for his fascination with “giant” themed sci-fi films, the movie mixes rock-and-roll teen culture, slapstick comedy, and science-fiction experimentation typical of mid-1960s exploitation cinema.
