Monkey Shines follows a young man who becomes paralyzed after an accident and is given an experimental service monkey to assist him. Initially helpful, the animal begins to develop a disturbing psychic connection with him, leading to increasingly violent and uncontrollable behavior as the bond between human and animal turns dark.
A psychological horror story that blends medical experimentation with animal instincts, the film builds tension around dependence, isolation, and loss of control.
