The Aliens Are Coming VHS (1980) – Goodtimes Home Video – Tom Mason, Eric Braeden – Vintage Sci-Fi Alien Invasion Thriller
An alien invasion is underway, and the extraterrestrials may already be walking among us! The Aliens Are Coming is a bizarre made-for-television science-fiction thriller that blends alien invasion paranoia, mystery, and old-school suspense into an obscure cult sci-fi experience from 1980.
Astrophysicist Dr. Scott Dryden, played by Tom Mason, discovers evidence of a hostile extraterrestrial presence on Earth. As he investigates a mysterious spacecraft and an enormous alien mothership hovering above the planet, he becomes convinced that the invaders are taking human form to prepare for a larger plan. With an investigative reporter drawn into the mystery, Dryden races to uncover the aliens’ intentions before their scheme can threaten humanity.
Directed by Harvey Hart and written by Robert W. Lenski, this television movie originally aired in 1980 as a pilot for a proposed science-fiction series. Featuring Eric Braeden, Melinda O. Fee, Tom Mason, and an early appearance by Ed Harris, it’s a fascinating piece of vintage television sci-fi for fans of extraterrestrial conspiracies, invasion stories, and obscure genre filmmaking.
This Goodtimes Home Video VHS release is a fun addition to a collection of vintage alien movies, ’80s science fiction, and hard-to-find television films.
