The Devil Doll - VHS Used

The Devil Doll (VHS, 1936) – MGM Home Video – Lionel Barrymore & Maureen O'Sullivan – Horror

Seventeen years after being wrongfully convicted and framed by his corrupt business partners, banker Paul Lavond escapes from the notorious Devil's Island prison. Alongside a brilliant but unhinged fellow escapee, he gains access to a bizarre scientific formula that can shrink living animals—and humans—down to the size of small dolls. Telepathically controlling these miniature assassins, Lavond returns to Paris disguised as an eccentric old toy merchant to systematically exact his absolute, terrifying revenge on the men who ruined his life.

Directed by master of the macabre Tod Browning (Dracula, Freaks), The Devil Doll features a brilliant, multi-layered lead performance by Lionel Barrymore alongside Maureen O'Sullivan, Frank Lawton, and Rafaela Ottiano. Based on Abraham Merritt's classic novel Burn, Witch, Burn!, this 1930s classic seamlessly blends vintage special effects, psychological suspense, and Gothic creature-feature horror into an essential pre-code era masterpiece.
