A gothic horror adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s classic tale, House of Usher follows Roderick Usher, a man tormented by illness, madness, and a cursed ancestral estate that seems to be collapsing along with his sanity. When a visitor arrives at the decaying mansion, he becomes entangled in the Usher family’s tragic secrets, repressed guilt, and inevitable descent into doom.
This adaptation is part of the celebrated Poe cycle associated with producer-director Roger Corman and frequently starring horror icon Vincent Price, whose performance defines much of the film’s gothic atmosphere and psychological dread.
