The Final Countdown - Blu-ray Used

The Final Countdown Blu-ray (1980) – Kirk Douglas – Martin Sheen – Sci-Fi War Time-Travel Classic

What if the most powerful warship in the modern U.S. Navy traveled back in time to one of the most pivotal moments in American history? In The Final Countdown, a freak electrical storm transports the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz to December 6, 1941, just hours before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Suddenly, Captain Matthew Yelland and his crew face an impossible decision: use their advanced weapons and technology to intervene in history, or allow the attack to unfold as it did in the past.

Directed by Don Taylor, this 1980 science-fiction war film stars Kirk Douglas as Captain Yelland and Martin Sheen as civilian analyst Warren Lasky, alongside Katharine Ross, James Farentino, Ron O’Neal, and Charles Durning. Featuring real U.S. Navy aircraft and carrier operations, the film blends military action, alternate-history speculation, and time-travel suspense.

A cult favorite for fans of classic science fiction, naval aviation, military movies, and alternate-history stories, The Final Countdown remains a memorable entry in 1980s genre cinema. This Blu-ray release is a great addition to any physical-media collection.
