Starring Penelope Ann Miller and Tom Sizemore, this 1997 Paramount Pictures release is a must-have for fans of ’90s horror, science-fiction thrillers, and practical creature effects.

When a shipment of mysterious artifacts arrives from South America at Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History, it brings more than ancient relics. A terrifying creature begins stalking the museum, leaving a trail of brutal murders in its wake. Evolutionary biologist Dr. Margo Green teams up with Lieutenant Vincent D’Agosta to investigate the killings and uncover the truth behind the monster. With the museum preparing for a high-profile gala, the building becomes a deadly maze as guests and staff find themselves trapped with an unstoppable predator.

Directed by Peter Hyams and featuring creature effects by legendary effects artist Stan Winston, The Relic combines atmospheric suspense, gruesome horror, and a memorable monster design. Based on the bestselling novel by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, this Paramount Home Video VHS release is an excellent addition to a collection of vintage ’90s horror and sci-fi movies.
