The War Game (VHS) – Woodhaven Entertainment – Classic Documentary
A chilling and historically significant piece of documentary cinema, The War Game presents a fictionalized look at the aftermath of a nuclear attack on Britain. Shot in a stark documentary style, the film follows ordinary civilians as society collapses in the wake of nuclear war, creating an unsettling and realistic portrait of the consequences of nuclear conflict.
Directed by Peter Watkins, The War Game was originally produced for BBC television in 1965 and became one of the most controversial films of its era. Its stark black-and-white imagery and documentary-style presentation make it feel disturbingly authentic.
