Zoltan: Hound of Dracula VHS (1990) – Vampire Dog Horror – Michael Pataki, José Ferrer – Cult Monster Movie
Dracula’s curse has found a new set of fangs in Zoltan: Hound of Dracula, a cult supernatural horror film featuring one of the most unusual creatures in vintage vampire cinema: a bloodthirsty Doberman Pinscher serving the Dracula bloodline.
When soldiers disturb an ancient tomb in Transylvania, they accidentally awaken Zoltan, Dracula’s vampiric hound, along with the Count’s immortal servant. The pair travel to California in search of Michael Drake, the last surviving descendant of Dracula. Unaware of his family’s dark legacy, Michael takes his wife and children on a camping trip, where Zoltan and his growing pack of vampire dogs begin hunting their victims. As the terrifying attacks spread, an experienced vampire hunter must intervene before the entire family is lost.
Directed by Albert Band, this offbeat 1970s horror film stars Michael Pataki, José Ferrer, and Reggie Nalder. Also released under the title Dracula’s Dog, the movie combines vampire mythology, animal horror, and classic drive-in movie thrills. This 1990 VHS release from Congress Video Group is a fun find for collectors of vintage horror tapes, Dracula-related cinema, and unusual creature features.
