Zombie Holocaust (DVD, 1980) – Shriek Show – Ian McCulloch – Italian Horror Gore

A rash of bizarre, ritualistic corpse mutilations hitting New York City hospitals leads a forensic anthropologist and an investigative team deep into the uncharted jungles of a remote East Indian island. Expecting to study primitive cannibal tribes, the expedition instead uncovers a far more terrifying reality: a mad scientist performing horrific, high-stakes brain transplantation experiments in an ancient mission hospital. Utilizing chemical agents to reanimate the dead, the deranged doctor unleashes a legion of flesh-eating ghouls, plunging the survivors into a desperate, blood-soaked battle against both ravenous cannibals and unstoppable undead legions.

Directed by Marino Girolami under the pseudonym Frank Martin, Zombie Holocaust (also infamously released as Doctor Butcher M.D.) stars cult exploitation icon Ian McCulloch alongside Alexandra Delli Colli, Sherry Buchanan, and Peter O'Neal. Melding the visceral shock of the Italian cannibal boom with traditional Euro-zombie cinema, this premium digital physical media release from the legendary Shriek Show label preserves every ounce of raw practical effects, heavy atmosphere, and absolute grindhouse-era gore mayhem.
